{"id":30120,"date":"2019-12-15T08:25:46","date_gmt":"2019-12-15T09:25:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sabainv.com\/mapna-signs-agreement-to-produce-irans-first-electric-buses\/"},"modified":"2022-08-28T09:12:32","modified_gmt":"2022-08-28T09:12:32","slug":"second-steam-cycle-of-jahrom-power-plant-synchronized-to-the-grid-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sabainv.com\/en\/second-steam-cycle-of-jahrom-power-plant-synchronized-to-the-grid-2\/","title":{"rendered":"MAPNA Signs Agreement to Produce Iran\u2019s First Electric Buses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MAPNA Group and Oghab Afshan Industrial and Manufacturing Company signed an agreement to produce Iran\u2019s first locally manufactured buses.<\/p>\r\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-24442\" src=\"https:\/\/sabainv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/9809203-300x177.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"177\" \/><\/p>\r\n<p>The agreement was inked in Semnan, northern Iran, between CEOs of MAPNA Electric &amp; Control Engineering &amp; Manufacturing Company (MECO) and Oghab Afshan Industrial and Manufacturing Company.<\/p>\r\n<p>The collaboration will take place under a joint venture scheme which will operate in Alborz and Semnan provinces. It will focus on local design and manufacturing of automobiles, and urban and intercity buses and minibuses.<\/p>\r\n<p>Localization of power train system is a key goal of the agreement.<\/p>\r\n<p>Once fully operationalized, the agreement will significantly cut emissions and lower fuel consumption.<\/p>\r\n<p>On the sidelines of his visit to Oghab Afshan industrial complex in Semnan, MAPNA Group President Abbas Aliabadi set out Iran\u2019s electrification potentials. \u201cIran needs two- to three-thousand electric buses to renovate its bus fleet,\u201d he said.<\/p>\r\n<p>\u201cThis is a path trodden by many countries. Iran should move through the same direction,\u201d Aliabadi added. \u201cThe environmental circumstances call for transformation of energy landscape and lower consumption. We should move towards electrification of rail, road, and urban transportation, and cut expenses\u201d MAPNA President reminded.<\/p>\r\n<p>Pointing to data on Iran\u2019s electricity consumption pattern, he suggested that the idle capacity of Iran\u2019s power plants -for nearly 8,500 hours throughout the year- can be used for electrified systems, including electric automobiles. \u201cThe infrastructures is ready out there,\u201d Aliabadi said.<\/p>\r\n<p>\u201cWith MAPNA Group\u2019s valuable experiences in production of diesel-electric locomotives, and studies the company has carried out on urban bus systems, we are absolutely ready to produce electric buses,\u201d he added.<\/p>\r\n<p>MAPNA Group\u2019s most recent electrification projects include installation of electric vehicle charging stations in Tehran.
